ISSUE | AUTUMN 2022
Autumn.Time of gathering in & a time for letting go.
The sun still shines bright here in Cyprus. Grapes, olives, figs, and all manner of goods grow plump, juicy, and ready for harvest. In other parts, trees let go of leaves to conserve water and energy to protect themselves through the chilly winter. Green leaves dry and curl up crunchy. Natureโs yellow, orange, and red streamers gently fall, creating a carpet of golden splendor to nourish the ground for seasons to follow.
In earlier days, the season of Autumn was called โHarvestโ โ the time for gathering in. In other parts of the world, we call Autumn โFallโ - the fall of the leaf. What meaning does Autumn hold for you and your life? Will the season be a time of โgathering in,โ of โletting go,โ or both?
In our latest issue of Daily Inspired Life, youโll be inspired by a diverse range of stories from people living in different places and from different cultures and backgrounds across our planet. In each story, I invite you to notice the repeated theme of โletting goโ and โgathering in.โ
Mugisha from DRCongo (who now lives in Uganda) was forced to let go of his home and his childhood dreams. Youโll be inspired by the way, despite great loss, Mugisha continues to โgather inโ blessings for himself and others who must flee their homes like he had to.
Fathima and her family from South Africa let go of a โnormalโ, typical way of living to embrace a new, alternative way of living. In doing so, they have โgathered inโ many benefits for their family and community - including a literal gathering in of fresh fruit and vegetables!
Yogi, from India, let go of his bad luck story to then โgather inโ a new way of thinking that changed the way he handles challenges and difficulties in life. Youโll meet Amy, from the USA who lost her eyesight. Manndi and Susan, who both lost dear loved ones, and Luna, from the UK, who endured childhood trauma.
In every one of their stories, youโll observe a form of โletting go.โ For some, they were forced to let go; for others, they made a conscious choice. Read and learn about how they were able to create something beautiful out of the circumstances they faced. Then take a closer look at your own "letting go" story by completing the narrative exercise included with my personal story, Live & Let Go.
Finally, a special note to the story sharers โ Iโm personally inspired by each and every one of you. Though we all come from different countries, backgrounds, cultures, and circumstances, I continue to learn from you and remain grateful to be connected to you. Through your stories and our shared experiences, I see a โgathering-inโ of courage, love, kindness, and empathy across the planet. You inspire me to live a beautiful life. Thank you.
Sending love and well wishes to everyone for an abundant harvest!
Karletta Marie.
